Senior Project Manager

Role:

As a motivated, agile, excited, proactive expert you are responsible for the day-to-day scrum and project management of projects undertaken.  You ensure that the project is planed, organized, produced efficiently and delivered on time, within budget and to standard (within agreed specifications and policies). The role requires that all projects are effectively resourced and managed and relationships with a wide range of partners and groups are maintained.  This requires allocating and utilising resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.


General Responsibilities:

  • Attend meetings and offer practical knowledge / advice to realise the project. These may be worldwide.

  • Undertake a “Contract Review” – can we do the project? Identify any additional resources required.

  • Create and assist in project costing’s.

  • Obtain final approval of the design specification.

  • Working with the technical drafting team facilitate design meetings, set and  agree deadlines

  • Manage and lead the client, project and the project team.

  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary. 


  • Recruit and book suppliers, consultants, freelancers and crew and manage the co-ordination and scheduling of these partners.

  • Ensure that there are clear communication paths within the project team and between all partners.

  • Encourage the transfer of product knowledge and skills to appropriate staff and partners.

  • Acts as main point of contact between the client and all partners.

  • Develop, maintain, control and manage project deliverables in line within a detailed project plan. 


  • Record and manage project issues and escalate where necessary. 


  • Resolve cross-functional issues at project level. 


  • Monitor project progress and performance. 
 Identify and be aware of any non conformities during the life of project, record and escalate where necessary.

  • Provide status and update reports to the wider team.

  • Manage project evaluation and dissemination activities. 


  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation during production and for site.

  • Quality assure the work of everyone involved with the project.

  • Compliance with and review of the organisational policies and procedures, examples of these being Health & Safety Policy, Factory Work Procedures etc., Project Management, Business and Accounts IT systems.

  • Ensure any Non Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are filtered down the project chain to all staff and partners as necessary.

  • Maintain a Passport and full clean Driving Licence.

 

Key Responsibilities to the job role:

  • Successful delivery of Project Scope, Schedule, and Budget

  • Ensure that the Client’s vision is considered throughout the Project lifecycle

  • Active Management of Project financials

  • Internal and external communication of Project status and progress

  • Draw together the engineering, manufacturing, operational and support disciplines to ensure Project success

  • To act as the design lead on specific projects and be the creative input.

  • Management of final deliverables, ensuring XKX Projects quality throughout delivery

  • Risk monitoring and delay management

  • Ensure that the Client’s vision is considered throughout the Bidding phase.

  • Drive the development of creative and technical solutions

  • Generate or collaborate on Project Proposals and Quotes

  • Establish pricing and payment schedules

  • Commercial, Contractual & Legal

  • Understand the Project’s commercial terms as outlined in the contract, along with contractual & legal relationships formed between XKX Projects and the project client

  • To ensure the necessary procedures, equipment and records are in place and being adhered to meet any national or international standards that might be in place or required by the project.

  • Participate in cost estimates and determine contingencies

  • To be the person responsible for ensuring ALL site files are issued and that each job has a debrief.

Business Development:

  • To actively partake in the development of the business through meetings and internal discussions.

  • Identify areas of improvement and development and feed back.

  • To work on the development and implementation of project - Contract, Delivery & ‘On Site’ procedures and policies in relation to any National or International and Health & Safety standards or awards that the business decides to undertake.  Examples being ISO 9001, CHAS etc.

  • To work with and liaise with appointed Consultants on the development of the business.

  • To feedback on resources required to undertake work through development, this being both human and equipment.
